KARADENIZ POWER SHIP OSMAN KHAN (KPS12)
WORLD'S BIGGEST
This is conversion of a Capesize vessel into a powership. Intention of the project is to build a mobile powership for supplying electric power to shore when consumers have power shortage. 24 pieces of 20.000 kW capacity diesel generators are installed on board; platforms, sea chests, foundations, exhaust towers and switchyard platform are built in cargo holds and on deck of the vessel.
The vessel is able to produce 550 MW of electric power. This is the biggest electric production capacity on a powership ever built so far. 5.500 tons of steel production, 650 tons of piping production is completed successfully by HAT-SAN Shipyard in the project. The vessel is delivered to our client in August 2017 and already serving for Ghana.
